The Broncos’ victory over the San Diego Chargers on Sunday had the largest TV audience nationally of the four weekend NFL division games.
Locally, the game on CBS-4 (2:30-6 p.m.), registered an a 81.2 audience share — the highest of the Broncos’ season and topping the 80.5 share CBS-4 registered a year ago when Denver lost to Baltimore in a divisional playoff, also at home.
Nationally, overnight Nielsen figures showed that CBS coverage produced a 42 audience share — the largest for a divisional playoff game in 18 years.
An audience share represents the number of television homes in a specific area, viewing television, and watching a specific program.
